Maryland’s Young Recreational Cannabis Industry is Depending on Visionary Organizational Leaders
As of July 1st, 2023, cannabis will be legal to possess in the Old Line State. The new law allows adults 21 and older to purchase and possess up to 1.5 ounces of cannabis, 12 grams of concentrate, and 750 milligrams of delta-9 THC for personal use.
The cannabis industry has often been described as the “Wild Wild West.” It’s still illegal at the federal level, prohibiting those selling cannabis products from obtaining the banking resources to which other businesses have access. In addition, the state hasn’t been clear as to how dispensaries will obtain licenses to sell recreational pot, or the process for those who want to enter the market.
There’s a lot of chaos surrounding this exciting opportunity, which makes it a perfect candidate for you. Port of Baltimore’s Infrastructure Upgrades Relies on Organizational Leaders at Every Level
According to WMAR, the Port of Baltimore will receive $15.68 million in federal funding to build four rail tracks and two crane rail beams at the Seagirt Marine Terminal. The funding is part of other initiatives designed to increase the Port’s capacity and capabilities. For example, the Howard Street Tunnel is being rebuilt to allow double-stacked container trains.
All of this is promising news for Maryland’s shipping industry, and maritime companies are taking notice. The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) just added the port to its international container service. Boston, MA, and Da Chan Bay Port in China will also join MSC’s infrastructure.
The infrastructure upgrades and MSC development come at a crucial time. WMAR reported that increased demand for containerized cargo increased over 2022, and ports throughout the U.S. simply don’t have the capacity to keep up.
